OUR HISTORY
Over 35 years ago, Jessica Vartoughian was inspired to open the first nails-only salon in the world with a system dedicated to the health and care of natural nails. An instant hit with A-list celebrities, socialites and beauty editors, the rest is history.
1969 – Opened the first Nails only Salon in the world, calling it a “Clinic “ and her manicurists and pedicurists “Nail Cultivists." First to use heated mittens and booties during manicures and pedicures to soften and smooth skin; Invented “The Natural Nail Transplant® procedure to invisibly repair breaks that last until nails grow out
1971 - Named “First Lady of Nails” by the New York Times, and manicurist to the Stars…created her signature “natural manicure,” known today as the French Manicure
1978 – First to develop a Natural Nail Cultivation System® that analyzes nail types: Dry, Brittle, Normal, and Damaged; and provides solution-based nail treatments for the health and growth of nails
1979 – First company to introduce telemarketing to the professional nail industry
1980 – First company to bring professional nail care to Japan

1992 – At height of acrylic market, JESSICA opened distribution in the United Kingdom; the UK remains JESSCA’s number one market
